Another dog abandoned in Los Cedrales the worst part was that they left her without being able to walk.
Under the sun, in a harsh place, without a single tree nearby.
When we found her, her body was full of wounds and quite malnourished.
How could a dog survive in such harsh weather for so many days.
She had a strong will, and when she saw me coming she lit up with joy.
This moment she must have been waiting for a long time.

At the hospital with all the necessary procedures Gloria was analyzed for erlichia, leishmaniasis and blood count
The doctor also did an X-ray to see what kind of fracture she had and whether it could be operated on.
She was very thin, almost skin and bones, one leg was a little sensitive.
We knew it would be a long and expensive treatment
But we wanted to fight for her

Gloria was being treated for erlichia and babesia, we still didn’t know what was causing her paralysis,
We had to wait a little longer, she was being massaged twice a day to avoid muscle atrophy.
She was in her temporary home, fortunately she tested negative for leishmaniasis
And most importantly she had no fractures or spinal cord compression,
It was very likely that she would not be able to walk because of erlichia and bannesia.
She would continue to be treated for both diseases, we hoped that this was one of the reasons why she cannot walk
Otherwise we would have to do a deeper clinical analysis.
At the moment Gloria needed to eat well, gain weight and massage her legs and hips.

We were so happy that Gloria is back on her feet we were more encouraged than ever by her progress
She was very active and eating, not walking yet but that was a huge achievement
She continued to use adult nappies
