We just got a call for help for this dog, he was abandoned in a rural area.
He was thrown in the mud and rain, unable to walk, and covered in maggots
The person who asked for our help moved this dog to a safer area,
Under cover until we could get there to rescue him.
They didn’t know if he was run over or what happened to him,
But his condition was very serious.
He was peeing on himself, he was very dirty and very angry.

Gudan had several small punctures in various places and we would need to anesthetize, clean, shave and bathe him.
He was a large dog who cannot walk, which made things more difficult.
He was also kicking his legs which could be a number of things: a neurological condition, injury or a febrile seizure.
We were shaving Gudan and cleaning his wound thoroughly.
His fur was in terrible condition!
The smell of urine was very strong, and we had removed many maggots, but there were still more maggots that needed to be removed from the wound.

We would bathe Gudan now and continue to stabilize his condition so that we could conduct further examinations.
