Libra the Pit Bull mix was just a puppy when she was brought home by Kramer. The sweet pooch quickly formed a precious bond with the family’s daughter, April, who was only 8 years old at the time.
Over the years, Libra has also become best friends with her adorable little brother, Maxwell.

As time went by, April grew up and Libra became a reliable source of support for her. But after being by her sister’s side for 15 happy years, the elder Libra’s health began to deteriorate. Her troubles began with some violent convulsions, which then led to the discovery of cancerous lung tumors. After several visits to the vet, the verdict was loud and clear: Libra was in a lot of pain and didn’t have much time left.

To the Kramers, Libra had been nothing but a good girl, and they didn’t want her to suffer for long. As the sick dog’s bladder rapidly deteriorated and caused her unbearable agony, the family decided to face the inevitable. However, there was one last thing April wanted to do for Libra to thank her for her unconditional and everlasting love.

Libra has always been a fan of road trips. So, on her last car ride to the vet, April decided to roll down the window and let Libra enjoy his favorite experience. For the next 30 minutes, the sickly dog ​​seemed at peace as he felt the breeze and enjoyed the passing scenery with his eyes closed one last time.

Libra has now crossed the rainbow bridge and their spirits are far from any pain or fear. A grieving April shared an emotional photo of Libra’s final car ride as a way to honor the legacy of her childhood best friend. It sure is beautiful and heartbreaking at the same time.
