When volunteers rescued three black Labradors from a death shelter, they had no idea that one of them would soon become a real star that so many people would fall in love with.

Second chance at life
Members of The Humane Society of Northwest Louisiana rescued three brothers named Burreaux, Joe, and O. from a dying shelter. All of the dogs were overjoyed to be given a second chance at life.

“Hey, look at me!”
After spending some time at the shelter, one of the dogs, Burreaux, realized that most people who visited the shelter passed by his kennel and ignored him. He wanted his own home so badly that he came up with a clever way to get attention. Burreaux started smiling at everyone who passed him, as if to say, “Hey, look at me!”

The star of the shelter
Burreaux’s dazzling smile became so popular that it helped the shelter attract many potential adopters. People fell in love with the dog’s personality so much that a family quickly decided to adopt him. What’s more, Burreaux has done so much advertising for his shelter that thanks to him, many other dogs have the chance to live in cozy and loving homes.

“I’ve been waiting for you all my life”
Burreaux’s reaction to meeting his new family was just adorable. The moment he saw his new parents, he jumped into their arms and showered them with kisses, as if he had known them for so long. He had been waiting for them his whole life!
The shelter staff was so happy that so many dogs were adopted recently. But volunteers admit that if it weren’t for Burreaux’s smile, many of them would still be looking for a home. Joe and O are still at the shelter, but everyone hopes that won’t be long.

To thank everyone who opened their hearts to the shelter dogs, the shelter posted a photo of a board with the names of all the dogs that were adopted during one month.
