He was saved inside of an outdoor septic tank. As you recall he was almost fully submerged with just his face showing in the sewage. According to neighbor accounts, they heard barks and cries for days coming from the area of the septic tank. Andy stayed afloat threading water for days. He is one of those dogs where you look at him and wonder how? How did he survive???
When we rescued him, his nails were all worn off into the quick from clawing at the cement walls both trying to escape and struggling to keep his head above water. He had deep scrapes all over his face from repeated contact with the concrete sides of the septic tank. His ears were full of the contaminated and smelly water. His eyes were red and swollen from the many times his head plunged beneath the surface. We are not sure what took so long or why this septic tank was uncovered in the first place, but we were thankful for everyone who helped to get him out of that cesspool.
Because of those heroes, Andy is now living the best life ever! He has a four legged brother- Ellis, and the best mom and dad!
This boy fought with all his might to survive and look at this hardy boy, he is truly a phenomenal being!!!
Every champion was once a contender who refused to give up!
You keep living the life Andy! You deserve the world!
