This is the story of two poor dogs abandoned on the street in Detroit , destined to die . They also represented a danger for motorists who could have passed through that street often frequented by cars and heavy vehicles. Luckily, rescuers intervened just in time to be able to save them and give them a second chance at life after abandonment.
The local rescue group is wondering who could have let two cases die in the area west of downtown Detroit, near an open field at Trinity Street and West Outer Drive. The discovery by volunteers from Rebel Dogs Detroit has left everyone speechless. This is Juniper Fleming’s story:
We got a call from an officer saying there were two dogs that needed rescuing. We rushed over and wanted to see what we could do to lend a hand and help.
The volunteers decided to call them Crop Top and Buffalo. It is not uncommon for animals to be abandoned in this area, destined for certain death.
Dogs Abandoned on the Streets in Detroit, Luckily They’re Now in Good Hands
As a rescue we are finding that since the start of Covid there has been a huge influx of people wanting to adopt dogs, which is incredible. But we have been able to rescue and adopt so quickly. We are now getting a lot more calls about dogs being found, but some dogs we are unable to help because the adoption and foster applications are not coming in at the same rate. There are not a lot of resources, especially for dogs that need medical care.
