When Kelli Miller and her 15-year-old daughter headed to a local park in South Carolina, they thought they were just going to enjoy the fresh air and a game of pickleball.
However, not long after they arrived, a worried woman ran up to them with news about fur babies who needed urgent help. She told them that she found the puppies by the park’s brook and that they were all alone.
These two good souls immediately rushed to the place to see what was going on. When they arrived, not only was no mama dog in sight but the puppies were also trapped by the water with no way of getting out.

Kelli and her daughter, Jordan, were heartbroken when they saw the situation these three puppies found themselves in.
“It’s not like they were trying to drink and we discovered them. They were stuck … they were just standing there out of sheer fear,” Miller told The Dodo.
However, as sad as they were, there wasn’t much time for despair. Luckily, Jordan quickly realized this, so she immediately went down to the creek and gently began to take out the puppies one by one.
It was then that she realized how important it was that they reacted so quickly, considering that one puppy almost completely sank into the water.
“I don’t think [he] would have lasted for too long,” Miller said. “He was freezing. I mean, he was really wet and shaking.”
Fortunately, the rescue mission was ultimately successful, and all three puppies were finally far from the water.
In Safe Hands
Kelli and Jordan couldn’t know for sure how these little ones got to this place. Sadly, they were still convinced that someone dumped them there rather than being left by a stray mama dog.
However, that only motivated them even more to do everything for these cute little beings. Since they were all wet and cold, these two good souls immediately put them in the bed of Miller’s truck so they could have a place to dry and warm up.
After the puppies were well rested, Kelli and Jordan were over the moon at the fact that all three of them were in good health despite all the trouble they had been through.
That’s why there was no need for them to go to the vet. They were immediately picked up by the K9 unit, which then took them to the Florence Area Humane Society in Florence, South Carolina.
There, they gave them new names: Vin, Shep, and Caspar, and their new lives could finally begin. Although these two good souls who saved their lives are most responsible for this happy ending, they remained humble until the end, and thus, proved their greatness.
“We were just grateful that we were able to help,” Miller happily concluded.
