A shy young puppy was left all alone, tied to a tree, writes ilovemydogsomuch
A rescuer named Dev Naz rushed out to the cub as soon as someone called his name. He was horrified to see this little guy in obvious distress. Someone had left him there and tied him to the tree using wire. How someone could be so cruel and careless is beyond our comprehension.
When Dev untied the puppy, he suspected it might be paralyzed. It hadn’t moved an inch! Dev tried to move its legs but something was definitely wrong. Unsure if the puppy had distemper, which is common and contagious, Dev put on gloves and carefully picked up the puppy.
Once the puppy is placed in the back of a truck, he is examined a little more. His legs seem to have no sensation in them. What happened to this poor boy? Dev speculates at first. He says it could be that the puppy was hit hard in the back. But when he sits the puppy down a bit, he finally notices the unthinkable. He has small wounds all over his body. A monster shot him with a pellet gun!
Dev Naz comes up with a plan. Take the puppy back to his home. The next step will be to notify the vet that this little guy needs surgery. Due to their location in the world and a severe lack of funds, this won’t be easy. Surgery is expensive! Thankfully, Dev is trained to do many things himself. He is able to treat the puppy for pain and infection. Through donations, Dev hopes to schedule the puppy’s surgery to remove all of the pellets as soon as possible.
The next day the puppy goes to the vet. The vet also determines that he has no feeling in his back legs. He needs to have scans to determine a course of action. Even though the puppy is in a strange place, surrounded by people, he is so good! The scans show spots all over his little body.
The vet and Dev determine that the puppy will need surgery where they can go in and carefully remove the pellets. They hope to do this without causing further nerve damage. If the surgery is successful, the puppy may be able to walk again, but nothing is certain.
Can we all join together and send our prayers to Dev, the vet, and his team, and the puppy, of course? We are so happy that this little guy was found in time and did not die from heat or starvation. Now there is hope that he will live a good life. Even if he is paralyzed.
