Douglas County Animal Care and Services staff are used to receiving calls about abandoned animals. Recently, however, they received a heartbreaking call. Liz Begovich, the organization’s supervisor, found a carrier in front of the shelter one morning with a poor cat inside, writes pintiks
The cat’s fur was so messy that at first they couldn’t see what animal was in it! The situation was bad: the cat couldn’t move because of the fur and was quite overweight because of it.
Liz immediately took the cat to a vet, who promptly shaved off 10 pounds of fur! The staff named the cat Bob Marley, and once the hair was removed, he began to move freely.
After years of neglect, the cat has a loving home and is recovering well. He was adopted within days and is quite handsome as you can see. Authorities are now seeking information on Bob’s previous owner and, fortunately, the guy who dumped him was caught on CCTV. “We would really like to know what happened. We would like to know if the man has other pets like Bob who are also suffering,” says Liz.
The truth should come out soon. Bob is doing great at the moment: here is a gallery of his heartbreaking story.
An unidentified man was recently caught on CCTV leaving a pet carrier outside an animal shelter
The shelter staff’s first guess was that it was a dog, since dogs are generally less demanding about their grooming than cats ( *) “We couldn’t turn him over because of the way he was pushed in the carrier”
“So we took the roof off and thought, ‘Oh my God, it’s a cat!’ I’ve never seen a cat like that.”
The cat was a prisoner of his own fur, barely able to move beneath the tangled, matted layers.
“They shaved off about 4.5 pounds of hair. It filled a full-sized kitchen garbage bag.”
It turns out that the previously dreadlocked cat, whom the shelter cheekily named Bob Marley, was also severely overweight.
The new charming Bob was put up for adoption, and now has a loving home
Read these characteristics that almost all cat lovers have in common:
INTROVERT AND SENSITIVE
It is the nature of cats that they are not friends with everyone, and the same trait can be seen in their owners as well. They usually live alone and are happy with their independent lifestyle. They are introverted but feel comfortable around other people. However, they would need some time to relax and recharge.
CAT LOVERS LEAN TO THE LEFT
It has been observed that people with liberal political leanings prefer cats to dogs. You may be a liberal dog lover or a conservative cat owner; if you are a liberal, you love cats and vice versa.
CAT OWNERS ARE OPEN-MINDED
Five traits: conscientiousness, neuroticism, extroversion, agreeableness, and openness are often seen in most cat lovers. Compared to dog owners, people who have cats as pets are more open and therefore have greater artistic creativity.
SEEK ATTENTION
Just like their pets, cat lovers seek attention from the people around them. They like to be the center of all conversations. Sometimes, cat owners rely on their pets for emotional support.
THEY RESPECT CATS MORE THAN ANYONE
Cat lovers respect cats more than humans, in general. The saddest sight for a cat lover is to see the animal on the street without a home. Cat lovers are often seen making a special effort to save or rehabilitate stray cats.
