We all know that dogs are capable of amazing things, but sometimes they get the opportunity to demonstrate it in a fantastic way, writes blog.theanimalrescuesite.greatergood
This was the case of Kabang, who saved two girls from being hit by a motorcycle. It happened in 2012 in the Philippines and we are sad to announce that Kabang has passed away.
The announcement came from the dog’s veterinarian, Dr. Anton Lim, who said Kabang died peacefully in her sleep. Her owner passed away in 2015 and the vet had been caring for her ever since.
Kabang was born in 2008 and became a hero when she saved two children from being hit by a bicycle in 2012. Unfortunately, the little dog lost his face in the process.
So many people were touched by what this little dog did that they made her an ambassador for dogwill and an official symbol of pet ownership. She was also an advocate against animal cruelty.
People from all over the world heard what Kabang did, so she was brought to the United States for face reconstruction.
According to CBS13, he received his treatment from the UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine.
In addition to reconstructing his face, they also treated other issues during the five-hour procedure.
Kabang lived to the ripe old age of 13, which is a long time for a dog. He will be missed.
