Every shelter pup has a dream that pushes them forward and helps them endure the lonely days spent in their shelter kennel.
It’s the dream of meeting a loving family who will give them a forever home.
Ever since Willow, a Corgi mix, was rescued and brought to a shelter, she yearned to have a place to call home and a human who would adore her.
Candice Yates, from Johnson City, Tennessee, decided to adopt a shelter dog after her beloved senior pup, Marley, crossed the rainbow bridge.

When Yates came to the shelter and met Willow for the first time, she was smitten with her.
After visiting her a couple of times, it became clear that Willow was the pup that she was taking home.
The doggo couldn’t contain her excitement when Yates came to pick her up. She ran into her arms and kissed her.
Willow’s heart fluttered with happiness after she moved in with her forever mom. She was delighted with her new toys and the comfy bed.
Willow looked at her mom with eyes filled with gratitude and tenderness. The doggo felt that she had begun the best chapter of her life.
She adored her forever mom and she wanted to snuggle with her all the time. The pup was a real cuddle bug.
Willow loved going on car rides with her. She felt carefree whenever she stuck her head out of the window.
As much as the doggo enjoyed riding in the car with her mom, she loved returning home even more.
Her mom posted a heartwarming video on her TikTok account that showed the pup’s sweet reaction when she realized that she was coming back home.
The moment Willow noticed that she and her mom began approaching their house, she started whining and her eyes twinkled with joy.
“Every time we would turn into our neighborhood, about one or two streets over, she would start whining and wagging her tail,” Yates told Newsweek.
At first, her forever mom thought that Willow got excited because she noticed another canine in the Johnson City neighborhood.
Soon, Yates realized that the doggo was happy to be returning home.
Willow reacts the same way whenever she and her mom go for a ride.
“I have my theories, but I really just think she feels like this is her home. To a shelter dog that has come from rough beginnings, having a stable environment makes all the difference in the world,” Yates shared her thoughts when asked about Willow’s reaction.
Once Willow enters her home, she stands on her back paws and a beautiful smile flourishes on her face.
The delightful pooch lives her dream life. She feels happy knowing that her mom loves her immeasurably.
