Private Janna Berger had to travel to another city for her advanced individual training. After being away from home for 8 months, she realized she missed her faithful dog, Murphy, more than she missed her family, writes illovemydogsomuch

As for Murphy, he was abandoned and kept longing to see his mother again. He waited outside Janna’s room all day and dreamed quietly of her return.

In this video we see Janna returning to her home in Salem, Ohio. She immediately calls her dog and Murphy comes running when he hears the familiar voice. But something is wrong with him. He sees Janna for the first time in a soldier’s outfit and he can’t recognize her because he’s only seen her in civilian clothes before! He barks at her and even runs off in the opposite direction, leaving Janna disappointed!

Murphy lingers from afar and watches Janna take off her hat. He lets out a loud bark when he realizes that she is the same person he has been waiting for all this time! The poor dog is overwhelmed with emotions, but his “delayed” reaction is just too precious! He runs to Janna like a good boy and showers her mother with his overwhelming love!

Janna falls to the ground while accepting her dog’s cuddles and kisses, and Murphy goes into zoomie mode as he hugs his favorite person in the world! This video shows that dogs never truly forget the people they love, no matter how much time passes or how much their humans change. Thank you, Janna, for sharing this special moment with us!
