After seeing that a person’s car door was open, a stray dog ​​jumped in, apparently looking for a place to rest, never imagining that this action would change her life.

The story began last year when this mischievous dog jumped into Bill Shaver’s car, who had forgotten to close the back door of the car when he rushed to the bathroom at a gas station.

Even though his wife was sitting in the front seat, the dog quickly climbed in and curled up in the back seat as if he had known the woman forever.

The couple was returning from a fishing trip in Missouri. They decided to stop and that’s when the dog appeared. When they noticed that she didn’t think about getting off and was coming closer to be petted, they decided to take her to a vet.

Doctors bathed and examined her, where they told the family that the animal showed signs of a struggle and wounds caused by the presence of ticks and other infections, indicating that it clearly had no other owners or had run away from home.

The couple decided to give her all the support she needed to recover her health, so they took her home. She quickly adapted and started playing in the yard because she was already determined to stay with them. The couple adopted her and named her River.
