Nancy the Doberman ended up in a landfill with a broken back after being badly beaten by her attacker, writes ilovemydogsomuch

The monster knew that no one would find the emaciated dog in the deserted landfill and that he would eventually succumb to his injuries. But Nancy desperately wanted to survive.

Nancy was paralyzed from the beating she took, but she began to crawl through the shattered glass and metal fragments scattered across the landfill. She was bleeding and had tears in her eyes, but she wouldn’t give up. Luckily, someone finally noticed her, rushed her to the hospital, and prayed for her life.

In this video, we see Nancy’s traumatic time in the hospital as she tries to come to terms with her paralyzed state. Vets perform a difficult surgery to repair her damaged spine, but Nancy’s movements remain severely limited. In fact, her hind legs had no movement at all. Her caregivers make the decision to send her to a rehabilitation center where she could receive further care.

With continued water therapy, massage, and treadmill exercise, Nancy’s front legs slowly healed after a few rigorous months. However, her back legs were still mostly numb. The rescuers didn’t want the sweet girl to suffer too much, so they got her a wheelchair that allowed her to play and socialize with other rescue dogs!

Rescuers are planning to continue Nancy’s physical therapy. She has already started to show promising movement in her hind legs and can get around without her wheelchair! Nancy has been a true trooper during her treatment. We hope she makes a full recovery and finds a loving forever home!
