It’s heartbreaking to know that many other countries suffer from overpopulation of homeless animals, writes ilovemydogsomuch
Strays roam the streets almost everywhere you go. Due to the financial strain and expense of spaying or neutering an animal, rescue groups and animal lovers can’t keep up.
Rescuers in this story saw a dog, who they later named Kaew, struggling to move. She was found living near a bridge in Thailand. Her injuries were from a car that had hit her long ago. Her bones healed so horribly that she had to use her mouth and back legs to move.
It is a miracle that Kaew has survived this long. Despite her struggles, she is gentle and loving. Her rescuers picked her up and took her to the emergency vet. The fact that she was even paid attention to was the first good thing that happened to her. She felt like she really mattered. And she does!
Just look at her smile! Her smile really warms the heart.
The vet evaluated her and found that she is severely malnourished. They put her on a high calorie diet and gave her fluids intravenously. They will then try to work on her atrophied muscles. With physical therapy and surgery in her near future, Kaew may have a fighting chance. Let’s pray that the medical team can work miracles.
It saddens us to think of so many strays wandering helplessly, living meal after meal. But with every small miracle, like Kaew’s story, we hope that good people are trying to make a difference.
